Blessed Thistle is used in rituals to invoke the God principal, particularly as embodied by Pan. It may be offered as incense, or may be an herb for the ritual cup, and taken as an elixir of the God. It has been used for protection of those who been Hexed, it is used to remove unwanted influences, particularly of Malevolent Intent.

General information: Popularly used in commercial preparations to Enhance Breast size, reduce fever, antibiotic, antiseptic, digestive aid, aid memory, treat migraine, fight colds, treat liver ailments, and treat anorexia. Blessed thistle may have anti-inflammatory and anticancer effects. Studies have shown that Blessed Thistle exhibits toxicity to some types of cancer cells. It has also been used for digestive problems, and to encourage appetite. It can also be taken to relieve painful periods, and for menstrual headaches.

Topically, a poultice of blessed thistle is used to soothe injured skin. A poultice is usually a soft cloth that has been soaked in a medication, possibly heated, and applied to an aching or injured area of skin surface, or overall massage.

Common tea dosage: Approximately a heaping teaspoon of this dried herb can also be added to 1 cup of boiling water and steeped ten to fifteen minutes to make a tea. Three cups can be drunk each day. It can also be taken by combining 1-1/2 tablespoons of powdered blessed thistle in 1-1/2 cups of brandy or vodka. Let stand for two weeks in a pint jar, shaking vigorously each day. Then strain material and put into another jar and store in a cool, dry place. A teaspoon of this extract can be added to 4 fluid ounces of distilled water and taken on an empty stomach.
